"And we'll build this love from the ground up

Now 'til forever it's all of me, all of you

Just take my hand

And I'll be the man your dad hoped that I'd be

And we'll build this love from the ground up
For worse or for better
And I will be all you need
Beside you I'll stand through the good and the bad
We'll give all that we have
And we'll build this love from the ground up"
-Dan + Shay, from the ground up

This past September, I had the immense privilege of shooting James + Amy's wedding! From Chicago, they came to our little neck of the woods Wisconsin to have a gorgeous, woodsy celebration of a day.

So many things I loved about their day- including their focus on their families, how friends traveled- many quite far to be there for the wedding, the simple elegance of the decorations + atmosphere, and the good GOOD food. You guys, they know how to celebrate!

James + Amy, thank you so very much for trusting me to capture your wedding day. You two are an amazing couple and I wish you all the best in life!! xo

The wedding took place at the Norskedalen Heritage Center, nestled in a valley amongst gorgeous, rolling Wisconsin bluffs.

The simplicity of the wedding decor was just breathtaking. I'm such a fan of simple elegance.

Amy, you are GORGEOUS. Marriage looks good on you.

Can we talk about this flower crown?!? Ashley Fox Designs did a stellar job on the the florals. Simply breathtaking, and fit Amy's style so well.

That smile. Oh the joy.

The families. Love so so much how much they honored each other.
Hello gorgeous sunshine.

Buses brought the wedding guests into the valley from their hotels for the wedding + celebration.

They did a beautiful hand binding ceremony.

James + Amy honored their sweet mothers during the ceremony with a gift. Such a sweet moment.

Joy,  you guys. Joy.

Hugs between the parents after the ceremony. This photo kinda melts my heart.

 Hugs and love all around.

Time to party!

We whisked them away for a few more photos during the reception.. the sun going down in the valley was pure magic.

Enos Farms did an outstanding job on the food for both the appetizers + meal. All local, farm fresh + all amaaaaaazing.

Beautiful homemade desserts. Amy's parents flew in from their off grid farm in Panama, and her mama labored love, baking the wedding desserts. So sweet.

Such a cozy feel their reception had!

And they danced the night away, and lived happily ever after.

special thanks to Mishaela for second shooting with me!! xoxo
